Drought (Ritardo)
A drought is the number of rounds since an outcome last appeared. Useful as a historical statistic, useless as a prediction.
Also known as: gap, dry spell
Definition
An outcome's drought is how many rounds have passed since its last appearance. On Spinlytics we show, for each outcome, the current drought, the average gap and the longest drought recorded in 24 hours.
It is a descriptive historical statistic. It does not mean an outcome that is "long overdue" is more likely: in a fair game with independent rounds the probability is unchanged every spin. Treating a drought as a sign of imminent appearance is the gambler's fallacy applied to time.
